MAISON LAVANDE: Living among Lavender
Project Type
Planted residential design research
Date
February 2023
Location
Paris, France
A home among lavender. Maison Lavande imagines flowering plants as a defining part of urban domestic life, bringing scent, colour and seasonal change into a dense city setting.
The proposal combines a residence with spaces for growing lavender and exploring its use in small-scale production. Planting gives the building an expressive identity while opening questions about habitat and the relationship between vegetation and urban air.
This design study considers the home as a place of cultivation as well as occupation. It brings together the sensory qualities of a garden and the possibility of a productive everyday life.
